This Privacy Policy describes how The Build Index ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information you provide while we operate this prelaunch website. By signing up, you agree to the practices described here.

What we collect

During the prelaunch phase, we collect only the information you provide:

  • Your email address (required).
  • Optionally, your name and a short description of your role.
  • Your consent preferences (whether you want product updates and whether you're open to being contacted for feedback).

We also receive standard server logs from our hosting provider when you visit the site (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps). These are used for operational and security purposes.

How we use it

  • To send you the prelaunch updates and announcements you've consented to.
  • To contact you about Data Beta access if you've opted in.
  • To improve The Build Index based on your feedback.
  • To prevent abuse and keep the site secure.

We do not sell your information. We do not share your email address with advertisers or data brokers.

Where it lives

Signups are stored with our database provider (Supabase) and the site is hosted on Vercel. Both providers process data in the United States. Information is transmitted over HTTPS.

Cookies and tracking

The prelaunch site does not use third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking. We may add a privacy-respecting analytics tool in the future; if we do, we'll update this policy.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email we send at any time. You can also email us to request that we delete your record from our prelaunch list — see contact below.

Children

The Build Index is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as we move from prelaunch toward our full product. When we do, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify subscribers by email.
